Jasper
PhD Student at Baker Lab
Hi! I’m Jasper. I’m a recent PhD graduate from the Baker Lab, during my time I helped develop the RFdiffusion series for people across the world to design novel proteins. I obtained my Master’s in 2024 from Oxford in chemistry, specialising in generative models for amorphous materials for my thesis. Collected tensors is a small ensemble of essays within ML; although a work in progress, I’ve found it a nice outlet for some unshared thoughts and getting some writing practise in. Also, check out my links, CV and whatnot here.

Democracy as an Alignment Problem
Asimov imagined Machines that would run the world but answer to no one. Today this future isn’t so far from reality, so what does it look like for humanity to maintain its voice?
On building diffusion models
With this article, I wanted to share to share some of the experiences we had building RFD3, and how this project changed the way I thought about building generative models to solve real world problems.

From Matrices to Transformers
Here, we take a brief look at some of the interpretability work for the transformer architecture, mainly based on anthropic's thread on intepreting information circuits within transformers. We build up an intuition for how information is propagated through transformer models through matrix multiplication and further ground intuition by introducing the Kronecker product notation.
Introduction
This blog consists of a small collection of projects of mine that I've turned into readable articles. Here, you'll find everything you need to know about the blog!
